Guests are given a warm welcome by owner and host John Higginson assisted by his son Liam. We speak French and English fluently. 

The Mill has been sympathetically renovated retaining many original features. It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on an Island on the river Indre      
The guest lounge has a TV with a wide selection of dvd's, free wifi access
There is also an extensive library.

The mill has a small private sandy beach and delightful gardens with a choice of terraces overlooking the river.  We have onsite private parking,

 The picturesque medieval town of Loches is 8 kilometers away. 

We are within easy reach of all the major Loire valley chateaux such as Chenonceau, Amboise, Villandry and Blois. 

Sorry we are unable to take pets.


Breakfast is served, in our delightful conservatory overlooking the river or on one of the outside terraces, between 8.30 am and 9.30am. It is a continental self-service buffet including fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts and seasonal fresh fruits as well as a variety of locally baked breads, croissants and pastries.

Dinner is also served in the conservatory or outside, weather permitting. We ask that you order in advance for the day of arrival and subsequently let us know at breakfast if you will require dinner in the evening.

Dinner is a four course meal served usually at 7.30pm (late arrivals can also be catered for). To begin, you will be offered an aperitif of sherry, gin and tonic, pineau des charentes, kir etc. The entrée is usually a light salad. The main course consists of fresh seasonal produce, including vegetables and centres around beef, chicken, lamb, pork or fish. This is followed by a cheese plateau and (home-made) dessert. Coffee and digestif to finish. 
We have kept the price of 25 euros for another year. 
If there are any special dietary requirements, please advise in advance. 
We have also two and three course menus available at 15 and 20 euros.
